Fr Rich needs men/women to be communion guards on Saturdays.  Fr Rich has asked that I reach out to you all for help in this regard.  Sunday services have members doing this.

 

What is a communion guard?

During communion it is standard practice to have a member of our community of faith uphold the importance and reverence for the Holy Eucharist.  This person approaches the front of the pews before the community receives communion, bows to the altar and stands about 5 meters off to the side of each communion line to discreetly watch that people consume the Eucharist.  If they do not immediately consume the Eucharist then they must be asked to do so or to return Our Lord to the altar servers patten plate for Fr Rich to care for it.
